According to the "Deal Report" in the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly, Winona Ryder and writer/director Daniel Waters are cooking up a sequel to HEATHERS, that dark gem released during the otherwise neon year of 1989. Says Winona, "There's Heathers in the real world! We have to keep going!" That makes it sound as though HEATHERS 2 might follow her Veronica character into a work setting but, at this point, it's also possible that the film would remain in the high school milieu. If that's the case, Ryder might not have a starring role herself. How would you like your HEATHERS sequel, if at all? Waters and Ryder are currently collaborating on the dark comedy SEX AND DEATH 101, on which shooting just wrapped last week. That film will likely be released next year. - joblo.com |

Couldn't be any worse than most of the sequals coming out now. _________________ Former Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad says, “there is no such thing as a moderate Muslim.” |

Bah . . .
I like the first one, but so many movies have copied it that it feels cliche by now.
Maybe if they flip the script, and there's a click of bored kids who base thier caste system on who's life is the most fucked up and who's the most depressed. Then some kid who thinks they're actually the most unpopular and is convinced they have it the worst starts killing other kids who have actual problems and/or are actually unpopular, so they have no competition for thier "Conquest of the Planet of the Angst."

I laughed out loud when I read that last paragraph. Well done, I give it 10/10! _________________ The darkest places in Hell are reserved for those, who in times of great moral crisis, maintain their neutrality. |

| I'll see it out of curiosity but she's been talking about this for years. |

The first film was such an underground hit that beld into the mainstream that a second would feel like a betrayal to the first.
Well, fuck me gently with a chainsaw. |

| Maybe they could set it on the internet - there are plenty of "Heather" type people there. |
