Yep...this is a rip of Nick's "Lovecraft" topic.
Poe and Lovecraft are my favorite classic horror writers. These guys know how to use words and scenarios to chilling effect.

The Cask of Amontillado
The Fall Of The House Of Usher
The Murders in the Rue Morgue
The Premature Burial
The Tell-Tale Heart
The Pit and the Pendulum
The Black Cat

I enjoy almost all of Poe's stories, but my favorites in order are probably:

Masque of the Red Death
The Cask of Amontillado
Hop-Frog
The Facts In The Case Of M. Valdemar
The Gold-Bug

Well this is sort of sad but back in high school I had to memorize The Raven for drama class, I am happy so say that that experiance didn't turn me off of Poe. I have to say that I really liked the Tell Tale Heart.

They're all my favorites, but "Cask of Amontillado" is my top favorite.

Now I need to hunt down the Lovecraft thread...

"The Cask of Amontillado" is my top favorite followed by "The Masque of The Red Death."

The one I dislike is "The Tell-Tale Heart' -- not so much because it is a bad story but because it is over-exposed and, when it is dramatized, poorly executed.

I am also fond of Poe's poetry. In particular, I like "The Bells," "The Conqueror Worm," "The Haunted Palace," and, of course, "The Raven."

For stories I like M. Valdemar the most I suppose. But the Raven is my all time favorite piece of writing from him.

I agree on the Tell-Tale Heart adaptations. A group called Puppet Headtz did a video adaptation that was done well but had that Stewart Gordon Lovecraft thing going, kind of goofing with things to make it more lively.

The Tell-Tale Heart, The Pit And The Pendulum and The Fall Of The House Of Usher.

Poe's just the best in my opinion.

The Masque of the Red Death would probably be my favourite story. But I think I like The Raven most of his overall writing.

The Fall of the House of Usher and The Black Cat. Usher is my favorite short story ever. I first read a childrens version of it when I was nine and have loved it ever since. I reread it about once a year, generally on a rainy, gloomy autumn day.
