My first film was called BLEED. It's not a slasher film, or a zombie movie, or a psycho killer movie, or a mindfuck movie. What it is is perhaps the most ambitious low budget movie EVER. Seriously. I also hope it's unlike anything anyones ever seen. It's being released from Brain Damage and should be at Best Buy in a few months. If you want to see a trailer, plot details, cast and crew info or anything else please check out the website here and let me know what you think.

http://www.unfilmable.com/bleed.html

As for COLD BLOODED. After the year and a half it took to make BLEED I really wanted something that was going to be more fun to make. So the plot (in a small nutshell) involves a group of people who end up in a town full of were-wolves. There's plenty of twists and turns, lots of surprisies, but I don't wanna give it all away here.

The main thing's I wanted was a movie that moved FAST and delivered and I wanted lots and lots of were-wolves, really dark, evil, vicious were-wolves. These were-wolves have big ears (I grew up on The Howling) and BIG teeth (because when they bite into faces...I really wanted to SEE those teeth doing damage.) Some people love the wolf designs, some people hate them, but hopefully, when the carnage starts it won't even matter.

I'll put up a few choice pictures here, but for regular updates and to see everything that's available (including cast and crew info) I keep a kind of filmmakers journal over at Myspace.

Anyway, here we go- I apologize for the darkness and blurriness of some of the these pics ahead of time.

These wolves do damage to people, when people get ripped apart...they get ripped apart-

These are some of my favorite pictures of a wolf yet. That's actually ME in the tree!

It's not all were-wolves though. I know this sounds funny, but characters are extremely important. Without interesting characters, nobodies going to give a crap if they die or not. These aren't "movie" characters. I try to make them as real as possible. You won't see any cliche drug references are generic characters in my flicks. I try to make them as real as possible.

And finally. Here's just some pics of various stuff-

Well, I think that'll be about it for now. One more thing...there's a big surprise at the end. I wouldn't call it a "twist" but it's a sure fire "Holy CRAP" moment that hopefully will surprise a lot of folks.

Please let me know what you think of these pics and I'll probably be back with more.

I recall checking this out on Fango. I love your work man, the wolves look a bit like fuzzy bunnies, but the teeth more than make up for it. Fucking twisted man.

Thanks! I hope you like the movie as much as you like the pics. These images really don't do the thing justice.

Sorry about that, I'm actually so computer stupid it's not even funny. One of my buddies made the site and set it up. Hopefully as time passes we'll be able to get more going on the promotion stuff. Soon as it gets released (still waiting word for an exact date) you should be seeing a trailer for Bleed around more.

We're filming next week, I'll be back with more pictures then!

Thanks! One of the things I learned most from Bleed was just dealing with actors, but I'm still learning. Every movie I've made now has been completely different from the last one. I never want to make the same one twice. This one has about ten times the effects work. Really fun stuff, but hard work.

We filmed lots of stuff Friday, but a lot of it gives away big hunks so these pics might be a little bland without the good stuff, but I kinda want to leave the really good stuff for the flick.

If everything goes right we should only be filming 4 or 5 more days and that's a wrap, but don't take my word for that, might take longer, might be shorter all depends, but we will be done by the middle of August. I've really gotten into the hardcore editing now, music, sound f/x all of that good stuff. I actually jumped tonight at my own movie! I forgot where a part came and it suprised me. I laughed right after. I'm actually really surprised at how good it's coming out.

Here's some of the latest stuff, I can't show a lot because there's major spoilers, but I'll show what I can without giving much away.

Here's some more guts and whatnot.

We filmed right in the middle of town. We only had one drunk guy come up to us and no cops, I was pretty surprised.

These legs and intestines look so small because Jared is a freakin' giant.

For some reason ppl assume this is a transformation scene....it's not....

Here's just a few more shots...

I should have a trailer for everyone by the middle of next week...if everything goes right.

Hey everyone, I've actually had to make all new music for the trailer which meant I had to scrap the old one and start from scratch, it's almost ready I'm just getting all the little bits and peices to fit.

A trailer, especially for such a low-budget movie is ridiculously important, it can drum up interest or kill the movie flat. If people watch the trailer and they think it sucks, chances are they won't check out the movie at all. I'm kind of a perfectionist when it comes to this kind of thing, so it doesn't help I try to get it frame by frame perfect. It won't be too much longer though...

I have so many pics on backlog I could put up, but there's the latest batch! We're almost done filming!

This is probably going to end up being my favorite moment in the movie.

I know a production company here that makes the trailer before they shoot the film. I have never thought that a trailer was important. It hardly ever sells a movie and it's even harder to raise money by shooting a trailer to a non-existant movie. You have my respect that your movie is finished and now you are concentrating on the trailer. We made a trailer for our film but that's not what sold it. Unless you are planning on putting the film on the market, a trailer is a waste of time. I am impressed with your work because it's obvious you are NOT a quitter. Good luck to you and I hope to see your film somewhere beside my computer screen. You have my greatest respect for completing your film. 2 thumbs up, my friend!

Mac user? Download Flip4Mac. It is a WMV plugin for Quicktime. Works well too.

We only have on more big scene to shoot and then our pick up day...which is just getting little shots here and there of like, the town, the car driving, just little stuff you miss the first time through. You're so worried about getting all the major stuff when you go to edit you think, "Hmmm, I really should have a shot here of the street..." or whatever. But most of that stuff is no big deal, just helps the movie flow smoother.

We filmed this one DAMN fast, I think about maybe two months...considering Bleed took a year...that's amazing for me.

The last scene is the big barn scene...or as we like to call it THE ALAMO. It's going to be the biggest hardest scene in the flick, I'm trying to get everything together for Sunday.

The trailer is almost done, but as we film I keep finding more and more stuff to cram into it, I'm trying to keep it under 2 minutes but there's so much stuff.

The transformation scene is DONE (can't show anything here, but we do have a few more f.x. shots to add in, that's another thing we get on pick up day) the ending of the movis is DONE, we've shot all that. The movie almost moves too friggin' fast. It's just like a damn bullet. I hope audiences can keep up. After the first 20 or so minutes the damn thing is just like a rocket. Hopefully there will be characters that the audience will be sure will live...that will die...and I hope they really FEEL these deaths and I hope they get a good reaction, not just because the gag is cool, but because they wanted that character to live.

I can't show too much of this stuff, lots of spoilers, but here's some stuff I CAN show..

Yeah, the ears move.

It was hard to find a shot I wanted to use here because they're ripping a character to itty bitty pieces and I didn't want to give it away...

I think I said it already but I'll say it again, Warren is my favorite character in the movie (that doesn't mean he LIVES of course) just because he's so unlike any other character in any other movie. He really kind of comes along and livens the flick up...just when it needs to be. I think it's when he comes on that people are going to be a bit less skeptical about what they're watching and kind of relax a little bit and enjoy what they're seeing.

I was really worried about this stuff because we're RIGHT in the middle of town running around with a rifle...thank God the cops came just as we were packing everything in.

As I edit I'll probably find lots more pictures to put up, things won't be so hectic now. It was pretty crazy for a little while there.
