Theatrical and teaser trailers for Andreas Prochaska's The Dark Valley (Das finstere Tal) have been added to YouTube.

The screenplay for The Dark Valley was written by Martin Ambrosch and Prochaska, based on the eponymous novel by Thomas Willmann. The movie stars (listed order corresponds to order in theatrical trailer) Sam Riley, Tobias Moretti, Paula Beer, Erwin Steinhauer, Hans-Michael Rehberg, Thomas Schubert, Clemens Schick, Carmen Gratl, Helmuth A. Häusler, Martin Leutgeb, Johann Nikolussi, Florian Brückner, and Heinz Ollesch.

Here's a synopsis for The Dark Valley from production company Allegro Film Produktions GesmbH: "A remote high mountain valley towards the end of the 19th century. A stranger, Greider, arrives at a clannish village community and asks if he can take shelter for the winter. He knows the villagers' gloomy secret. A mysterious series of deaths ensues."

Here's a synopsis for The Dark Valley from the international sales agent for the movie, Films Distribution SAS: "A stranger arrives in a remote high mountain village where he is allowed to stay before the harsh winter. He introduces himself as a photographer from America, but nobody suspects that the stranger is here to take revenge."

The Dark Valley is set to have its world première at this year's Berlin International Film Festival (Internationale Filmfestspiele Berlin) - a.k.a. the Berlinale - which runs from February 6th to February 16th. X Verleih AG is scheduled to release it theatrically in Germany on February 13th. Filmladen Filmverleih GmbH is scheduled to release it theatrically in Austria on February 14th.

BTW, if you haven't already done so, be sure to watch the theatrical trailer for Lucas Pavetto's The Perfect Husband.
