Typically low-key Daily Mail report here:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2000302/Human-Centipede-2-Will-sickest-movie-time-released-U-S.html

I suppose this raises one of our most discussed subjects, that of censorship. Personally, if it doesn't break the law and everyone involved is a fully consenting adult, I have no issues with any movie. As I don't subscribe to the notion that films cause violence (I mean, The Manson Family scrawled Helter Skelter on a wall - how can we legislate against stuff like that?) I don't believe in the BBFC's stance that this film can harm audiences - it's only a modern day echo of what James Ferman said about The Texas Chainsaw Massacre back in the seventies.

Hmm, time was this might have sparked a healthy debate here. Which raises a question which always comes to mind whenever I stop by here: what has happened to this forum?

Anyway, the film's been granted a certificate now so hoorah for that.

Q: Do you see the BBFC ban being lifted any time soon?

Tom Six: Well, they have rejected our second appeal, so now the distributor has to go to a barrister or court, Iím not sure how that works, so it looks not very good. The film is not obscene, a lawyer said that and we have to get a barrister saying that. We have to find a way, Iím fighting my ass off with the distributor to find a way to show the film in the UK. You have councils and itís all very complicated, I donít understand it [the ultimate decision on a film's certificate lies at local council level, however, they almost never contradict BBFC]. But we will go on.
