Yes, you could. I think American horror is at a low again. All we've really had in the past five years is Zombieland. Thank God for Coffin Joe.

Uh... if THAT is all you think we had then you need to watch more horror. Zombieland was pretty mediocre.

I'd call Insidious mediocre. At least Z-land was fun.

If you call nothing happening for the majority of the movie fun, then sure. The beginning was fun, the ending was fun, but there was just such a loooooong stretch of time where nothing fucking happened.

But either way, I'm just saying... even with the MOUNTAIN of shitty movies out there, there are still plenty of good ones if you know where to look.

I haven't seen Scream 4 mostly because it just looks "meh". But anyone who says Scream ruined horror in the 90's is pretty much an idiot. It ushered horror back into the mainstream in a huge way and paved the way for the few good American horror films we have gotten since. But it also brought the idea that talented actors could be involved in horror. That's always a good thing.

And anyone complaining about the same plot while championing the Friday the 13th series, is just about as dim-witted as they come.

Name me one good movie that was the result of Scream phenom? We got waves of waves of the same type of uninteresting teen slashers for years and years.
