I only just recently got around to trying it out. Anyone else read it? Thoughts? I'm not quite sure what I think about it. I know I liked it, but beyond that... |

| Haven't read it yet (or anything else by Piccirilli for that matter) but that's got to be one of the greatest titles for a horror novel ever. |

Piccirilli's pretty solid. I love his "Self" series of stories and novel, about an unnamed necromancer and his familiar, Self. Fun stuff.
A Choir of Ill Children was really strange, funny, disturbing and atmospheric, but, at times, I think it maybe went too over the top? I don't know. I haven't read many Southern Gothic stories, really. The whole book felt like it was soaked with brackish, backwater superstition, swamp magic and dripping sweat, which was good, and like I said, I liked it. i REALLY liked it, but I don't know if I could recommend it to just anyone, if that makes any sense. |
