If you ask me the best Western ever made is High Noon.

I've never been so anxious while watching a movie before. Gary Cooper was just incredible as this man who gave everything for his town and desperately needed something in return.

It really shows how unappreciated heroes tend to be.

The final showdown in the climax is just so intense.

I absolutely love it.

I think the Clint Eastwood-Sergio Leone "Man With No Name" trilogy is the top of the list. But my sentimental favorite is "High Plains Drifter". Ther are lots of really good westerns, though.

Pale Rider is so bizarre. A 15 year old girl tells Clint's Preacher character she wants to fuck him but he's fucking her mother who is engaged to another man. Only in a western.
