Speaking of treehuggers where's Malachi? I bet this is his favorite movie. I know it's one of mine.

Every once in awhile the perfect talent comes together and creates an amazing movie such as this.

This movie will always be relevant and I have to say the effects hold up well. The Valley Forge is amazingly designed and just as amazing is the fact that it was shot on the decomissioned Aircraft Carrier Valley Forge before it was scrapped.

Bruce Dern is great!

For a mere million bucks it's quite an achievement in filmmaking.

It's been a while since I've seen it. I don't own the DVD and my VHS is in protective custody somewhere in the pile of stuff that currently constitutes my life. I've loved this film ever since I watched it over and over on Saturday afternoons as a kid along with "The Andromeda Strain".

Has there ever been more human droids? The poker scene is great. This movie makes me sad everytime I watch it.

I think this is why I watched the film so much as a kid. Disney movies (Bambi, Dumbo, Peter Pan) never made me sad, but this weird space film did. Space films weren't supposed to be sad and serious.
