Is anyone else besieged by a mixture of curiosity and mortification? Part one ha done of the best narratives (and shitty endings) like, ever ever. But with part two putting you in the role of a Big Daddy, I seriously need to ask WTF.

So far:

-Events take place after the first game
- You'll be a Big Daddy so the game is going to emphasize combat more
- Big Sisters will be introduced. They're pink and slender.
- No idea if you'll be able to use plasmids but there'll be more weapons
- I don't think the guy who directed the first will be helming the sequel.

I played this game over a year ago, but in the first one wasn't there a stage where you technically are playing as a big daddy?

A few corrections:

Big -Sister- will be introduced. Singular. One of a kind.

Yes, you can use plasmids. You don't play -a- Big Daddy, you play the original. A prototype. Thus, the plasmid usage and variable weaponry.

No, this one isn't being done by Ken Levine's crew. It's being handled by a different branch of 2K. Yes, this is absolutely a cause for alarm.

See, Ken Levine made some other games in the past: System Shock and System Shock 2. The latter remains one of the finest PC games ever made, and Bioshock is absolutely the spiritual successor to those titles. For a 'shock' game to be made without his involvement...man, color me worried.

I know it sold like gangbusters, but it was a perfect stand-alone story and really, really didn't need a sequel.

That said, man am I hoping this turns out to be solid, because I loves me some Bioshock.

Irrational fucked up Bioshock something fearce. I'd rather they give System Shock 2 a facelift and rerelease that one. The most frightening game I've ever played.

I just beat part 1 last month. I went the good route and didnt harvest any of the little sisters. I have a save right before the last little sister so i can get the save all but one ending. Should I bother?

The former PSM has some info about the sequel. One thing of note, you will be able to walk outside on the ocean floor in parts.
