Do we really need another Texas Chain Saw Massacre? No, of course we don’t. But with Inside filmmakers Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury at the helm of this next one, I see no reason why we shouldn’t all be excited about the return of the genre’s most hulking brute.

Courtesy of the Fantastic Fest Twitter comes our first look at Leatherface, which is set to be a prequel to the original classic, giving us a glimpse at the slasher icon’s teenage years. That first look is in the form of a poster, teasing the bloody carnage. Dig it!

Millennium Films, who was behind the 2013 Texas Chainsaw 3D, is once again producing with Christa Campbell, Lati Grobman, and Carl Mazzacone for Lionsgate. 2014 Blood List winner Seth M. Sherwood wrote the screenplay.

Look for more on Leatherface soon.

Synopsis:
In this prequel to The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, a young nurse is kidnapped by four violent teens who escape from a mental hospital and take her on a road trip from hell. Pursued by an equally deranged lawman out for revenge, one of these teens is destined for tragedy and horrors that will destroy his mind, molding him into the monster we now call Leatherface.
