I watched this last night. It's weird but I liked it. Has anyone else seen this movie? _________________ Threw you the obvious. And you flew with it on your back. A name in your recollection. Down among a million, say: Difficult enough to feel a little bit. Disappointed, passed over. |

| It is an incredible film. And very sad. I was truely impressed by Bjork's acting ability. |

Bjork was incredible!
I really like this movie - very tragic story/ending.
I didn't think I'd like it because the material didn't seem appropriate for a musical (most musicals have a happy ending), but after a while, it grows on you. |

I liked it quite a bit. But then again, everything Von Trier does is excellent. _________________ Former Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad says, “there is no such thing as a moderate Muslim.” |

I thought the musical part seemed out of place at first but I liked it because you were seeing her day dreams. It was a very sad movie. The ending especially. I thought Bjork did a good job. _________________ Threw you the obvious. And you flew with it on your back. A name in your recollection. I never thought I would say this, but... I actually agree with you 100% percent. |

Bjork plays an immigrant Czechoslovakia who has an disease where she's losing her eye sight and her soon will suffer the same fate if she doesn't get him an operation. She works in a factory and is saving her money to get her son this operation. But then all this stuff starts to happen. And as she's losing her eye sight she basically day dreams musicals starting herself. _________________ Threw you the obvious. And you flew with it on your back. A name in your recollection. I saw this movie about 5 years back now.
What a gut wrencher!
I was a fan of her music first and I bought the Selma's songs cd that was out before the film. It mean that as I watched the movie I noticed the subtle differences in what was on the cd to the film itself, like how the track about 'finding out for yourself' was directed at the viewer because in the movie the song gave away the plot. Quality.
I was impressed.
I was saddened. The grainy quality of the movie and the legendary Catherine Deneuve made this something to be treasured.
The end - something you always want to change, every time you watch, I guarantee it.
Bjork - quirky and energetic gave this everything.
As an off-shoot - I found the same feelings in another movie I watched this year - A Tale of Two Sisters.
For those of you who want to feel your insides have been stirred with a stick, I would recommend this movie. _________________ http://www.jackiecoupe.com |

| I despise everything about Von Trier and his manufactured counter-culture. |
