Oh I remember this series quite well. I was about 7 years old when it started. Every Tuesday night my family and I would watch it. It may have come on after ALF but I can't remember. There was no Jason. There were no serial killers with axes. There was just an old shop that sold cursed items.

http://www.horror-asylum.com/frameset.asp?page=http%3A//www.horror-asylum.com/television/episodes.asp%3FSeries%3DFriday%20the%2013th%3A%20The%20Series%26Season%3D1%26SeriesRef%3Dfriday13%26ItemNum%3D727

It is depressing that all I have been able to find are bootlegs but with the recent surge of retro shows going to DVD there may be a spec of hope for the 3 season show to make the cut.

I really don't want to settle for this kind of dvd set: http://www.darksideondvd.com/fridaythe13th/

I never did understand whay the replaced Ryan. The new guy never had any chemistry with the other two actors and the show kind of fizzled out. Were they trying to cast a more handsome actor to increase their female viewership ?

I used to watch this on WPIX Channel 11 (now the WB) when I was a kid on Staurday nights.

It was:

8:00 - War of the Worlds the Series

9:00 - Friday the 13th the Series

10:00 - Monsters

10:30 - Tales from the Darkside

and switch over to Channel 9 for:

11:00 - Freddy's Nightmares

That's the way I pretty much remember it also, except there were repeats the following Saturday in the afternoon of War of the Worlds and Friday the 13th. I'm glad War of the Worlds season one was released (mostly due to the Steven Spielberg movie), Friday the 13th the TV series definitely should come out on DVD. And don't give us any barebones like WOWTS either, it deserves better treatment with commentary, interviews, deleted scenes and a cool looking box set. Guess I'm the only one that liked Johnny Ventura.

This was one of my favorite TV series ever. Even the "Johnny" episodes were decent, I thought. I taped all but 1 of them off of Sci-FI a few years ago, but would gladly trade up to an official DVD release. Robey is muy caliente!

I was a little slow getting into it because being young at the time I just didn't understand how it couldn't have anything to do with "Jason"

After I got past that I loved it. Can't wait until the DVD release

HELL YES!

ALL great shows!

I used to watch F13 The Series every saturday with my mom and brother. My favorite was the episode with the girl and her mirror.

Those were the days... makes me very sad.
