Poughkeepsie Tapes on the Move

Could the sudden move for the release date of The Poughkeepsie Tapes actually be a good thing? A few days back it was revealed that the film had been removed from the dumping ground that is February to an undetermined future date. Heads were scratched.

Today, howevfer, one of the PR agencies for the film released a statement that The Poughkeepsie Tapes would be out sometime in the fourth quarter of 2008; a very busy time for horror when you realize that Saw V, Quarantine (the remake of REC that’s being helmed by Poughkeepsie Tapes director John Dowdle…), Trick ‘R Treat, the Hellraiser remake and more are scheduled for release in the same time frame.

That’s some pretty stiff competition, fiends. So perhaps the move shows that MGM feels good about the flick. Here’s hoping Tapes has the mettle to go up with the big boys. Check out the last trailer for the film below, just ignore anything about its release date…
