Blood Car (2007)

Though the premise has a lot going for it, something about Blood Car just didn’t work for me. It worked better for staff reviewer D.W. Bostaph, which is why he reviewed Blood Car for us over the weekend. Essentially it takes place in the near future when gas is way too expensive. A hippy accidentally invents a car engine that only runs on blood, and hilarity ensues. Buy it here!

Wow, this sounds so much like a porno it’s not even funny. A cocktail waitress decides there’s more money in topless dancing (it’s true, ladies) and immediately meets up with a trio of vampires who become infatuated with her. Then it’s up to the other cocktail waitresses and a pizza delivery guy (!) to save her. Buy it here!

Six grad students are stranded in the jungle and left to fend for themselves against … a tribe of killer chimpanzees! You see, their professor insists that this rare opportunity to study the species was a great idea, but pretty soon they learn why no one’s studied killer fucking chimpanzees before. Buy it here!

After a meteorite hits the Earth, most of the population of the planet is struck blind save for a small group who managed to look the other way at the last minute. Their plan to try and build a future together runs into a problem with a carnivorous plant known as a triffid develops a taste for rotting human flesh … and learns to walk. Buy it here!
Horrors of War (2006)

Back during WWII, Hitler had some very unconventional ideas of how to defeat the Allied Forces trying to bring his army to its knees. Our O.S.S. sends a team in to try and find out the source of Hitler’s latest batch of nightmare warriors. The movie is cheese through and through from what I’ve read, an homage to sci-fi/horror movies from the 40s and 50s, so just keep that in mind if you sit down with it. Buy it here!
In the Spider’s Web (2006)

Another monster movie set in a jungle in the same week? How weird. This time Lance Henriksen stars as a doctor who plans to use a local breed of spider, who like to feast on the dead, as some sort of unimaginable weapon. Killing Spree (1987)

From the director of the infamous Truth or Dare comes this harrowing tale of a suburban man who finds out that his wife is fucking everyone in the neighborhood. He decides to take his revenge on the loves by utilizing the most interesting killing tools he can come up with, but the dead lovers just don’t want to stay dead. Too bad Sub Rose put such an ass-ugly border around the cool original art, but what can you do? Buy it here!

A teacher and her two students head out to a mountain village and learn the legend of a red-haired ogre who once saved the village. A strange woman tells them of the curse that surrounds the legend, but they ignore it and open a forbidden door that unleashes the aforementioned curse. Sucks to be them! Buy it here!
Manticore (2005)

A US Army squad is sent into Iraq to find a missing news crew, but instead find the villagers are sitting on top of a actual weapon of mass destruction, a real live Manticore! Just one … just one fucking movie about monsters that doesn’t involve fucking college students. Seriously, why does every one have to have students as their meat for the beast? Is it because no one really cares about what happens to students? Or that they’re at that stage in life where they’re just stupid? Whatever the case, this one’s about a bunch of college students who awaken an ancient demon when they’re sent in to clean up an old house. Buy it here!
Werewolf in a Woman’s Prison (2006)

A girl, on a camping trip with her boyfriend, is the only survivor after a werewolf has at them and the boyfriend is torn to pieces. If course, they suspect her because it makes sense that a girl would tear someone apart. She wakes up in a corrupt woman’s prison and eventually the strange bite she suffered in the attack as its way with her. Buy it here!

Wow, sixty-one discs make up this set, the full adventures of FBI agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully, who are assigned to the strange cases that no one else wants, investigating alien abductions, monsters, and other strange things that go bump in the night.
