Here's more of what I thought about Clerks 2 and why you little (deleted)monkeys need to see it. "Don't worry I'm taking it back."
Went and seen Clerks 2 twice Saturday. Really fucking brilliant and hilarious movie. Kevin Smith really outdid himself this time. Jay and Silent Bob are new and improved and more funnier than they ever were. They still deal drugs and aren't stoners anymore, but their new faith and Bible-loving antics make for some hilarious new comedy gold. Dante and Randal were given much more complex personalities this time which was an upgrade.
Randal's, while he does seem to of gotten stupider as the years went by, also gotten much more bold and brash with his insults. Especially those hurled at Elias, a Lord of the Rings/Transformers fanatic fanboy. Elias is also holder of the secrets about "Pillowpants." You'll have to see the movie to understand that one.
Adding Rosario Dawson to the cast as Becky, the Mooby's manager, was a pleasant treat for me knowing how hott she is. ^_^ She's really what gives the film some heart, along with dialogue between Dante and Randal. Yes, you heard me! Clerks 2 has heart. But don't fear, it's actually good. This movie is right up there with the original Clerks and Chasing Amy.
I won't even get into the whole Joel Siegel fiasco that's happened but I will give you this.......

Finally someone sends some love Rosario's way! She was most excellent -- and looked great too. Man, I wish someone in my office would paint my toes for me!
Seriously, this is the best comedy to come out in ages -- plus it has the bonus of the "heart" everyone keeps talking about. UC and I both loved it and can't wait to see it again. _________________ Can you feel the thirst?

AMAZING!
Smith at his absolute best. Rosario Dawson had me even falling for her, she was brilliant. And Randal's speech at the end got me very teary eyed.
Just a great great great movie.

| The Mooby's was right around the corner from me. It was actually an old Burger King that was transformed. Drove by a few times when they were filming, but was unable to stop and watch. Hopefully going to see this tonight, I can't wait. |

Boy I really enjoyed this a lot and I have a lot of trouble with Kevin Smith movies. Usually I love 50% of any film and just can't stand the other 50%. Brilliant and funny on one half and tragically overwritten on the other.
This really hit the flow just right imo. Sure there's the typical 'what did you learn Dorothy' speech but I didn't squirm half as much as I usually do.
Hellava message too. See it DISC. You'll have some trouble with it but I think you will like it more than his other films.
I am surprised how many people don't know what a P- Monkey is. Do you want to know? You do?
spoiler if you for some reason I guess...
A p- monkey was a little metal statue of a man holding a big hoop or metal square. It wore a servant outfit and was painting in a cartoony black face with black black skin and big red lips....like a little slave guy. Very demeaning and of course it looks like a monkey. People would mount these on their porches so visitors could tie off their horses when they stopped by.
And now you know. And knowing is half the battle. _________________ Close the case before the coffin. |

P-monkey? You can't just type "porchmonkey"?? Even when in a (reasonably) safe context??
PORCHMONKEY made me laugh my ass off.
PORCHMONKEY might've been one of the best parts of that movie.
PORCHMONKEY made a girl at one of the later shows piss her pants.
PORCHMONKEY owns you. |

I could write whatever I felt like writing Malachi. I choose not to. It doesn't own me what-so-ever. I try to follow my own standard. _________________ Close the case before the coffin. |

The PillowPants troll story with the Shining music in the background almost killed me. I couldn't breath from laughing so hard. _________________ Close the case before the coffin. |

| I was telling a friend of mine last night how this is the first time I can remember my sides actually hurting from laughing so much in a theater since... I can't even remember when. Probably the South Park movie. |

The Pillow Pants story didn't do so much for me (but I guess I can see how the guys would like it), but definitely the p-monkey and LOTR vs SW ones had me rolling.
Saw a commercial for this the other day, and they gave away a major plot twist:
* s p o i l e r*
Rosario's character's pregnancy.
* e n d s p o i l e r *
I would be majorly pissed if I saw that before seeing the movie. _________________ Can you feel the thirst?
