First Casting News for Long Time Coming Fallen AdaptationAt the end of 2009 the film rights to Lauren Kate’s Fallen, which puts two fallen angels in a love triangle with a shy teenage girl, were snapped up, but then it was dead silence about the first of a hopeful four-part franchise. Finally, now we know the director and first two cast members.

Per Deadline, Lotus Entertainment and Mayhem Pictures have chosen Addison Timlin (pictured; The Town that Dreaded Sundown, “Californication”) and Jeremy Irvine (War Horse) to star in Fallen. Scott Hicks (Shine, No Reservations) is set to direct. Kathryn Price and Nicole Millard adapted, and Michael Ross wrote the most recent draft.

Mayhem’s Mark Ciardi and Gordon Gray are producing with Bill Johnson and Jim Seibel of Lotus Entertainment. Silver Reel’s Claudia Bluemhuber is exec producer, and Campbell McInnes of Lotus is overseeing the project. Lotus is financing and handling foreign sales; the producers are currently in discussions with domestic distributors.

If all goes well, we can look forward to the next three chapters: Torment, Passion, and Rapture. Oh my!

Book Synopsis:
There’s something achingly familiar about Daniel Grigori.

Mysterious and aloof, he captures Luce Price’s attention from the moment she sees him on her first day at the Sword & Cross boarding school in sultry Savannah, Georgia. He’s the one bright spot in a place where cell phones are forbidden, the other students are all screw-ups, and security cameras watch every move. The school is filled with frequent supernatural occurrences, and it becomes clear that the majority of students are fallen angels on the side of good or evil.

Even though Daniel wants nothing to do with Luce – and goes out of his way to make that very clear – she can’t let it go. Drawn to him like a moth to a flame, she has to find out what Daniel is so desperate to keep secret… even if it kills her.

Dangerously exciting and darkly romantic, Fallen is a page-turning thriller and the ultimate love story.
