Saw it yesterday. I haven't laughed that hard in a long, long time. Fucking superb.
Talkin' bout Dante, (Kinky) Kelly, & the Troll. |

Damn right. Love the running "One ring to rule them all" gag.
I'm going to see this again sometime next week. I already know it. |

I am unable to post anything about this movie without racist comments.
But I am bringing it back! |

I echo your sentiment. I'm seeing it again at 7PM. The conversation between Dante and Randal in the last half (those who've seen it know) brought tears to my eyes. And what a magnificent ending, with a great closing song that I've always loved.
Go see Clerks II. It's the best film of the summer and quite possibly Kevin Smith's best film. _________________ "I hate all sports as rabidly as a person who likes sports hates common sense." - H. L. Mencken

| I have very little desire to see this seeing as the trailers didn't even make me giggle. Shame too, because I love Clerks, Chasing Amy, and Dogma. |

You aren't seeing it just because of the trailer? Most reviews I've seen have called this one of his two best movies. |

Uhm yeah. Trailers are designed to allow someone to make the decision as to whether or not they want to see a movie. And how is a trailer not enough but reviews are? |

| Trailers can be misleading. I've seen plenty of trailers that have looked bad but turned out to be fantastic movies. Reviewers have seen the movie. I'm sorry to state the obvious, but it just boggles my mind how you can decide to not see this based on a bad trailer when it has been getting positive reviews from people who have actually seen it (especially from former Kevin Smith movie fans.) |

It's not just the trailers...It's also that Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back was one of the worst movies I've ever seen...Coupled with the fact that I think Smith returning to this film is suspect...Then you have trailers which should make me laugh and don't at all...Beyond not making me laugh I think the jokes (in the trailer) are dumb. That's what trailers are for, for better or worse they are designed to this end. I don't know why you are having a hard time with this concept.
A million people can tell me it's good...Does that mean I'll like it? Should I really spend my money on something I'm not really amped to see just because it has some good notices? If I wanted to see it, I wouldn't care if it got a ton of bad ones. How is this different? |
