| One not listed yet: "Once Were Warriors". Much great depression to be found in foreign movies. Russia's "Come and See". Take your pick of Igmar Bergman. I just rewatched "Virgin Spring" from the new Criterion DVD and that fits the bill. Polanski's made some big downers, among them "Repulsion". |
