Here's a link to "Guts" from "HAUNTED"...probably one of the better stories in the book. Personally, I found the novel a bit disjointed and long winded in parts. But, there were absolute moments of brilliance too!
But, for sure...check out "Guts". First time I read it, I threw up just a little in the back of my throat. The mark of a truly disturbing story...*LOL*

Guts was originally published in Playboy magazine if I remember correctly. That's the first time I got to read it. Not for the sexually squeamish. that's for sure.
Just imagine something written by Ed Lee. _________________ Insert something funny here |

When I first read 'Haunted' a while back, this was the one story I had the most problems getting through.
Tough stuff. |

Good stuff

Jesus, that is one of the most horrible things I've ever read. I though I was a jaded horror fan and that nothing bothered me, but Christ.... If all the stories are like that Haunted might be worth reading. _________________ You know there ain't no Devil, that's just God when he's drunk. |

| Totally overrated IMO. I have a hard time believing people fainted at readings. What do you guys find so shocking? Is it the gay/anal aspect? Jeez. |

| This is the only story I remember from the book. Haunted was my first Palahniuk book. |

I think the reason people were supposed to have been fainting was that 'this story should last about as long as you can hold your breath' or whatever. too, you can find mp3's around, of him reading it. they're pretty decent. _________________ couple of Demon Theory reviews: here | ToxicUniverse |

That might explain it, yeah. |
