A theatrical trailer for Tomomatsu's aforementioned Red Sword (Hont˘ wa eroi Gurimu d˘wa: reddo suw˘do) - a.k.a. "Akazukin vs ˘kami-otoko gundan" (romanized working title) - has been added to YouTube. The movie stars Asami and Momoka Nishina.

Here's a synopsis for Red Sword from the production: "Long, long ago, there was a wolf-man tribe who had no women. All through history these desperate wolf men have attacked and raped female humans as a way to continue their species. But the wolf men have a terrible legend where every hundred years, on the night of a red moon, a little girl is born and she is destined to destroy the wolf-man tribe. The lecherous wolf men are so afraid of females that they have developed a code which requires they kill baby girls soon after they are born. But only the lovely Beniko Akatsuki survives this terrible fate. Â These days, Beniko fights endless battles against the wolf men. Poor Beniko's mother was ruthlessly raped by a wolf man and gave birth to Beniko. To save her baby girl, Beniko's mother had to sacrifice her own life. Now, Beniko wears a memento of her beloved mother, a red riding hood, and she has dedicated her life to killing all the wolf men. One day, Beniko senses that the evil wolf men are sneaking into a high school. The clever Beniko pretends she is a school girl and starts attending school, only to find vicious, horny pack of female-deprived wolf men. Beniko protects her fellow school girls as she fights them off with her sword and her red riding hood. Â Will the brave, sexy Beniko Red Riding Hood be able to finally kill the vicious pack of sex-starved wolf-men?"

Naoyuki Tomomatsu's RED SWORD has been released as a rental only DVD by Klockworkx in Japan on April 6th 2012. A sales version is not planned and should not be expected. Previous entries into the Nippon Splatterotics series, like Tomomatsu's own EROTIBOT, are still unavailable to buy in Japan.

You left out the most important part of the title: It's 本当はエロいグリム童話 THE SERIES: レッド・スウォード/Honto Wa Eroi Gurimu Dowa THE SERIES: REDDO SUWOODO/The Real Erotic Grimm's Fairy Tales THE SERIES: RED SWORD! This leads me to believe that RED SWORD is only the first entry in a series of smutty retellings of classic fairy tales in the Nippon Splatterotics line. I'd certainly pay to see Tomomatsu's version of the SNOW WHITE story over either of the two Hollywood films coming out this year or the accompanying Asylum mockbuster.

The English-language title of the sixth movie in The KlockWorx's Nippon Splatterotics series is "Sex & Onmyoji"; the Japanese-language title of it has been changed from "Awa-hime onmy˘ji kidan" (romanization) to "Hont˘ wa eroi Nippon no ura-denki: awa-hime onmy˘ji" (romanization). As previously mentioned, it was directed by Naoyuki Tomomatsu, and stars Mau Morikawa and Miho Wakabayashi. The KlockWorx is scheduled to release it on rental DVD (KWX-898) in Japan on July 4th.

The aforementioned screening of Rape Zombie: Lust of the Dead at JFFH was cancelled; the movie now is scheduled to have its international premiŔre at this year's Asian Summer Film Festival (Festival Nits de Cinema Oriental) in Vic, Spain on July 13th.

BTW, if you haven't already done so, be sure to watch the theatrical trailer for ValentÝn Javier Diment's Memory of the Dead (La memoria del muerto) - the surprise movie at last year's Buenos Aires Rojo Sangre (BARS) film festival.

I wrote on September 17th of last year:
Quote:
With regard to Zombie Ass: Toilet of the Dead, the screenplay for it was written by Ao Murata, Jun Tsugita, and Noboru Iguchi. Yasutaka Nagano was the cinematographer for it. Nori Fukuda was the production designer for it.

BTW, Tsugita, Nagano, and Fukuda worked in the same capacities on Takashi Murakami's live-action Jellyfish Eyes (Mememe no kurage), which is now in post-production. That movie is being produced, in part, by Yoshihiro Nishimura and his Nishimura Eizo Co. Ltd. (Y.K. Nishimura Eiz˘) - a.k.a. Nishimura Motion Picture Model Makers Group (NMPMMG).

Today (August 1st) was the first day of filming (crank in / kuranku in) of Murakami's Jellyfish Eyes 2 (Mememe no kurage 2).

Jellyfish Eyes is scheduled to be screened at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) on April 8th at 7:30 p.m..

Here's a description of Jellyfish Eyes from LACMA: "In his feature filmmaking debut, renowned visual artist Takashi Murakami transforms the classic cinematic trope of the new kid on the block into an epic genre-defying adventure. Having recently lost his father, young Masashi moves with his mother to a small city in the Japanese countryside. But when he discovers that their new apartment is already inhabited by a pint-sized, gravity-defying creature, Masashi begins to pull back the curtain on this sleepy town and finds that very little is what it appears to be. Unraveling a conspiracy that involves everything from remote-controlled avatars to crazed rival cults, Masashi discovers that he and his classmates are at the center of a nefarious experiment. Not only an accomplished artist but also a connoisseur of Japanese popular culture, Murakami packs his film with a delirious abundance of ideas and imagery. What other coming-of-age fantasy has tween romance, a role-playing battle royale, nuclear intrigue, rival doppelgangers, and a giant monster?"

BTW, if you haven't already done so, be sure to watch the trailers and TV commercial for Takashi Miike's Shield of Straw (Wara no tate).
