Synopsis:
By-the-book forest ranger, Billy Teal, is dead set on preventing Cory Mathis from finding the truth about the Mark Twain forest. Mathis, a professor, claims Bigfoot killed his wife turning him into a man obsessed with revenge. Mathis partners up a team of misfits for the capture of the creature, but Ranger Teal; a covert government agency and a serial hoaxer (Rick Dyer) have other plans.
The Canadian duo of Tom Green and Les Stroud hit it out of the forest in this witty comedy with a dysfunctional protagonist, a twisted narrative, and a series of events that builds into a shocker of an ending.
Written and directed by Thomas Smugala and starring comedian, actor, filmmaker and talk show host of The Tom Green Podcast, Tom Green (Road Trip, Charlie’s Angels, Freddy Got Fingered), Discovery Channel Series Survivorman and Beyond Survival Les Stroud (100 Days: Yukon), Jessi Combs (Spike TV Series Xtreme 4×4, TLC Series Overhaulin, Discovery Series MythBusters), Tera Eckerle (The Lost Treasure of Jesse James) and Stacy Brown Jr. (Spike TV Series 10 Million Dollar Bigfoot Bounty, Animal Planet’s Finding Bigfoot).
Internationally published, photographer/writer/director Thomas Smugala has for several years produced creative photography and films for fashion, music, celebrity, and advertising clients. Thomas has also directed many award- winning short films and music videos. Being heavily influenced by fine-art photographers like Joyce Tenneson and Richard Avedon, and directors like the Clint Eastwood, Thomas decided very early in his career to shoot all of his projects with a visual approach and a “when they go that way, I go this way” attitude. This has made it possible for him to pursue his passions without limitations. Thomas has written, produced and directed films, music videos and television commercials in this manner all proving to be very successful endeavors. His artistic vision and approach to life, along with his professional connections and marketing savvy create the perfect catalyst for a successful film. His film Apocalypse and The Beauty Queen (2007) was shot in Missouri and gained international distribution with Vanguard Cinema. ABQ was released for 5 years to Netflix, Amazon, Blockbuster and Family Video. ABQ was dubbed to Russian, Spanish and Japanese gaining limited theatrical in several foreign markets. Thomas recently completed Interviewing Monsters starring Tom Green and Les Stroud.
