There was also Naoyuki Tomomatsu's BITE ME IF YOU LOVE ME in 2011:

Quote:
Hitomi is a pretty high school girl who adores zombies. She has no interest in handsome boys like all other her friends. She has been mad for zombies as far back as she can remember. Hitomi has watched every zombie film ever made and she has an impressive collection of zombie goods and memorabilia

Hitomi's wettest dream is to have a zombie boyfriend, but no one believes she really wants to fall in love with a zombie. Then, one day, she meets up with Shota, a high school boy who everybody knows is still a virgin. This nerdy student is nicknamed "Zombie‐kun," or 'little‐boy' zombie. Hitomi studies every transformation technique she can get her hands on, hoping to develop a spell that will change Shota into a real zombie. Will Hitomi's efforts pay off? Will she actually manage to have her wettest dream come true and have sex with a post‐rigor mortis zombie?

Takao Nakano's BIG TITS ZOMBIE and Yoshihiro Nishimura's HELLDRIVER are another two Japanese zombie movies that came out in 2011.

Big Tits Zombie had its world premiŔre theatrically in Japan on May 15, 2010. Helldriver had its world premiŔre at Fantastic Fest in Austin, Texas on September 28, 2010. Bite Me If You Love Me had its world premiŔre on rental DVD in Japan. (I deliberately excluded it and other movies that had/are to have their world premiŔres on DVD, such as Girls Zombie and Sun of the Dead.)

Rain for the Dead could have a festival/theatrical world premiŔre this year.

Masatoshi Tamai's medium-length (its listed running time is 47 minutes) movie Undead Dragon: shiry˘ yűgi and Iguchi's Zombie Ass: Toilet of the Dead are scheduled to be screened at the Yubari International Fantastic Film Festival (Yűbari Kokusai Fantasutikku Eigasai) - "Yubari Fanta" for short - in Japan on February 24th; Murakami's Zomvideo and Tomomatsu's Rape Zombie: Lust of the Dead are scheduled to be screened there on February 26th.

BTW, Iguchi's latest movies are Harapeko Yamagami-kun: gekij˘-ban - co-directed with Yoshihiro Nishimura and Jun Shiozaki - and Kaidan Shin Mimibukuro: igy˘; they're also scheduled to be screened at Yubari Fanta on February 24th.

I haven't heard a peep about that project after Uziga announced it on his website last November, despite his claims of announcing more details and cast members soon. Considering I never heard of the proposed director and make-up artist before, this might just have been premature/wishful thinking and not be going to happen.

It'd be an uninspired choice for an Uziga adaptation anyway. I'd much rather see a film version of DEATH PANDA or MAI-CHAN'S DAILY LIFE. The latter needs to be made just to show Srdjan Spasojevic who's boss.

Undertaker

A special trailer for Iguchi's Zombie Ass: Toilet of the Dead has been added to YouTube. Also, the official website for Kawamatsu's Undertaker is now functional, and on it is a stills gallery for the movie.

Those who are interested in Zombie Ass: Toilet of the Dead may also wish to watch the theatrical and teaser trailers for Iguchi's upcoming Dead Sushi (Deddo sushi). According to the synopsis for the latter on Gaijinsploitation.com, it features killer sushi that "multiplies, infecting humans and turning them into zombie-like creatures."

Linked to below are two pairs of rather large - and rather politically incorrect - production stills from Rape Zombie: Lust of the Dead; the second pair features Yui Aikawa. Primewave Nexeed Corporation (Puraimuwŕbu Nekushţdo K.K.) released the movie on sale DVD in Japan today (March 2nd); the DVD is being distributed by Albatros Co. Ltd. (Arubatorosu K.K.).

A teaser trailer for Bishop Koyama's upcoming Rain for the Dead (Ame-agari no kimi) has been added to YouTube.

The screenplay for Rain for the Dead (Ame-agari no kimi) was written by Koyama, based on the eponymous (with regard to the Japanese title) short manga (viewer discretion is advised) by Waita Uziga (who's also the movie's executive producer). The movie stars (listed order corresponds to trailer order) Masaya Adachi, Marie Ono, and Jin Chikamatsu. It features special make-up effects by Zerai Naoi (Yűichi Naoi).

BTW, if you haven't already done so, be sure to watch the seven-second teaser trailer for Naoyuki Tomomatsu's upcoming Awa-hime onmy˘ji kidan. The sixth movie in the Nippon Splatterotics series of international sales agent The KlockWorx Co. Ltd. (K.K. KurokkuWÔkusu), Awa-hime onmy˘ji kidan stars Mau Morikawa (viewer discretion is advised) and Miho Wakabayashi.

An international trailer for Iguchi's Zombie Ass: Toilet of the Dead has been added to YouTube.

The title of Iguchi's aforementioned movie in the Kaidan Shin Mimibukuro series apparently is "Kaidan Shin Mimibukuro: ikei", not "Kaidan Shin Mimibukuro: igy˘". ("Shin Mimibukuro" is the title of a book series by Hirokatsu Kihara and Ichir˘ Nakayama.) Kaidan Shin Mimibukuro: ikei is a 4-story omnibus horror movie.

BTW, if you haven't already done so, be sure to watch the teaser trailer for Hitoshi Takekiyo's anime feature After School Midnighters (H˘kago middonaitÔzu).

Synopsis for Kazuya Ogawa's Killer Motel (Hitokui ryokan): "There is a Japanese style inn located in an out-of-the-way area near Mount Fuji. No one knows if it's in business or not, but the inn is owned by two people: the expressionless host, and his bewitching daughter. Â The host lures six patrons to stay at his inn for one night. All the guests feel the inn has an odd feel to it, but none of them pays attention to it in particular. Â In reality, the host and his daughter have a hidden agenda. They are hunting in order to feed the host's son: a huge living zombie hidden away in a locked room, whom these cruel hunters dote on as if he were still part of the family. Â A twisted tale illustrating conflicts of consciousness, cold-blooded insanity, and the depths one will sink to for the love of one's family is about to begin..."

The working title of Tomomatsu's latest movie project is "Rape Zombie 2" ("Reipu zonbi 2").

BTW, it turns out that my reading of the last word in the title of Iguchi's aforementioned movie in the Kaidan Shin Mimibukuro series was correct, and that of a number of Japanese websites (e.g., the Yubari Fanta one, Japanese Wikipedia, and the since-revised Japanese Horror Movies Database) was incorrect; the word in question is "igy˘", not "ikei". The official website for Kaidan Shin Mimibukuro: igy˘ is now online, although at present it's just a home page.

Rape Zombie: Lust of the Dead, Undertaker, and Zomvideo are set to be shown in the Brigadoon section of this year's Sitges Film Festival in Spain; the festival runs from October 4th to October 14th.

Trivia item: Listed in the programmes as "Psycho: the snuff files aka Niku Daruma", Tamakichi Anaru's Tumbling Doll of Flesh (Niku daruma) was shown in the "Als japos els agrada la sang" subsection of the Brigadoon section in both 2005 and 2007!

Zomvideo is scheduled to be screened at Monster Fest in Melbourne, Australia on November 4th.

Here's a description of Zomvideo from Monster Fest: "Tired of zombies? We feel you, and that is why ZOMVIDEO is a uniquely hilarious dummies guide to zombies, a step-by-step instructional manual about how to deal with the denizens of the dead! This comedy-horror-satire aint' your average zombie story! Some fledgling editors working in a dead-end sleazy video company find a mystical VHS that is uncannily related to each undead encounter they face in the wake of a sudden zombie apocalypse in Tokyo city! Â The increasing denizens of the dead are led by two very enigmatic and deranged half-zombie women (played by J-Pop stars C-ute) who have a bizarre relationship and the strange ability to control the zombies every move. Playing direct from Yubari Film Festival Japan, this is one very charming, brand new and hilarious gem that is equal parts Shaun of the dead, Battle Royale and Videodrome! ZOMVIDEO brilliantly plays with the tropes and conventions of zombies and turns them into something you have never seen before and is easily the smartest horror-comedy to ever come out of Asia."
