I told you fuckers I'd be the first on this news after all these years, I am fucking proud to announce.... AMERICA IS BATTLE ROYALE!!! Anchor Bay has picked up the rights to BR3D for theatrical release in early 2011. That's not all! They've also picked up the rights to the original version as well as BRII, which will also see a U.S. theatrical release.

After all these years? If you wanted to see the first two I'm sure you have by now, so who cares. I hope they're not putting alot of money on these. BR3D I'd like to see in a theater, if it shows here. The others I don't really care about.

Did you even fucking read anything? Yes, the 3D one is the one they're releasing theatrically here.

Did you read what you wrote?

And I quote "They've also picked up the rights to the original version as well as BRII, which will also see a U.S. theatrical release." As I said before, anyone that cares has already seen them. Why pay to see a movie in a theater that I've owned for years?

Pointless to relase a 3D version. Think I'll stick to my 9 year old uk release.

Blah, blah, blah. You fail again. Right before that I mentioned that BR3D is getting a theatrical release here which is what you were clamoring for to begin with. So as I said. FAIL!

For the chance to see something in theaters that you never got to see in that environment before. It's a totally different experience and can be a lot of fun. It's the same reason they'll re-release stuff to theaters or do special showings.

Caught Videodrome and They Live at special showings a while back and it was fun as hell, even though I'd already seen them both on DVD plenty of times.

If you like seeing a movie with rude people that would rather talk on their cell phone and text than watch the movie then more power to you. These days the only reason I know of for going to a movie theater is to see the movie sooner. Unless it's a very special movie or event I'll wait until I can watch it at home. I'll take the peace and quite of my livingroom over a loud rude theater crowd any day.

The good new is if you see movies like Videodrome and They Live in the theatre then most likely you are surrounded by people who have the same interest in it as you do.

I saw Pet Semetary a few years ago at a showing and no one talked.

Granted, there were like 8 of us there, but they were quiet.

Oh I remember the forums now... why would I return to this? LOL!

I for one would love to see Battle Royale on the big screen... for the pure experience of it all. And hopefully all the rude assholes on cell phones will share similar opinions to Borgosi and stay the fuck home so I could enjoy it. Razz

Very cool news to me X! Hiya... it's been a long time. Wink

I can't see Anchor Bay or any US distributor doing anything more than a small scale midnight movie weekend run with BR. No way all the religious nuts, poltically correct a-holes and uptight d-bags will allow a movie with elementary school kids killing each other to go wide release. Not to mention it has to get a NC-17 rating here? That being said, I just hope they have a showing in MI because I'll be the first in line!

Oh yeah, all known copies of BRII should be destroyed. That has to be one of the worst movies every released. It was so said that Fukasaku passed away and his hack son had to take over. It had such potential but ended up a hot pile of shit.
