Bottled Vulva: Bank Teller Noriko (Binzume nyoin: ginkôin · Noriko) director Shinji Imaoka's Japanese-German pink musical Underwater Love (Onna no kappa) is scheduled to have its world première at this year's Tribeca Film Festival (TFF) in New York City on April 22nd at 10:00 p.m., and to subsequently be screened there on April 23rd at 10:30 p.m., April 27th at 11:30 p.m., and April 28th at 11:30 p.m..
According to TFF, the screenplay for Underwater Love was written by Imaoka and Fumio Moriya. The movie stars Sawa Masaki, Yoshirô Umezawa, Mutsuo Yoshioka, Emi Nishimura, and Ai Narita. Yoshihiro Nishimura's Nishimura Eizo Co. Ltd. (Y.K. Nishimura Eizô) was responsible for its special make-up effects.
Here's a description of Underwater Love from TFF: "A spectacle of songs and sex that is at once zany and erotic, Underwater Love puts an unforgettable new spin on the Japanese tradition of softcore 'pink' films. Asuka has an easy life with her doting fiancé - but everything's about to change when she discovers her childhood friend has been reborn as a folkloric water sprite, and she decides to take him home.... With music by Stereo Total and cinematography by frequent Wong Kar-wai DP Christopher Doyle."
BTW, last year Narita co-starred with Maki Mizui (formerly Sayako Nakoshi) in Minoru Kunizawa's pink film The reipâ: yami saito-hen - bishimai · hada no sakebi - or "The raper: yami site-hen - bishimai · hada no sakebi", if you prefer back-transliterations.

Does anyone here know whether Imaoka directed either of the other movies in the Bottled Vulva (Binzume nyoin) trilogy - to wit, Bottled Vulva: High School Girl Yuriko (Binzume nyoin: joshikôsei · Yuriko) and Bottled Vulva: Kindergarten Teacher Kyoko (Binzume nyoin: yôchien kyôyu · Kyôko) - or any of the movies in the Female Body Collection (Nyotai shûshû) trilogy - to wit, Female Body Collection: Female Teacher Mika (Nyotai shûshû: onna kyôshi · Mika), Female Body Collection: Stewardess Risa (Nyotai shûshû: suchuwâdesu · Risa), and Female Body Collection: High School Girl Mina (Nyotai shûshû: joshikôsei · Mina)?
