| Here is a show I really miss. Granted it had a few bad episodes but most of them where really good. The make up effects where also pretty cool. I wish HBO would start showing this again but they probably never will. Well at least its on DVD. |

I could never watch the episode with Morton Downey Jr. Too scary for me. _________________ ----------

Hell yeah, that episode freaked me out for some reason. Man, what a great show, I miss it so much. I'm glad they're finally releasing all seven seasons to DVD... _________________ Hope for the best, prepare for the worst. |

One of my favorites was the 1 with Larry Drake (Dr. Giggles) playing the killer santa. I have such fond memories of watching this show every saturday with my dad when I was like 6-7 years old. _________________ http://www.dvdaficionado.com/dvds.html?cat=1&id=michaelmyersbrother

When I was a child I was terrified of the Cryptkeeper. So my father, sadistic man that he can be, made me watch it to "get over my fear". I think he liked to see me squirm and close my eyes when the Corny One appeared on screen.
However, I started to watch the episodes and REALLY dug them. They were a combination of horror and humor most of the time that worked. They weren't really scary, but fun. Which is part of who made me what I am today. And probably paved the way to my vampire obsession, but "Fright Night" probabably has a lot to do with that as well.
Also, fun fact, the voice actor for the CryptKeeper is married to Julie Benz, the actress who played Darla on both Buffy and Angel.
Now how's THAT for a horror connection? |

I remember watching Tales From the Crypt when I was really young and being terribly afraid. However, I recall a time when I was quite a bit older and the show was re-run and I couldn't help but laugh at the show and myself for ever thinking it was horrific in any way.
But I'll give it to the show, it is a valiant effort. I'm not sure it'd be worth airing again...kids these days are so desensitized, you know? It takes a 12-gauge shot to the face to get to a five year old it seems. _________________ The darkest places in Hell are reserved for those, who in times of great moral crisis, maintain their neutrality. |

I used to love this show too. And yeah the effects are really laughable when I watch it today. My fave ep is probably The Ventriloquist's Dummy.

That was a great episode.
I have all 7 seasons on DVD and I love them. One of my favorites is the one with Corey Feldman and the hitmen trying to make a wife tell the location of her husband. And the one with Arnold switching parts with William Hickey.
There is also one the is pretty much the concept for 30 Days of Night. |

Just found Tales from the Crypt, and have watched a few episodes.
Is it wrong that the show cracks me up? |

Scariest one is Death of Some Salesman, where Tim Curry plays every character, and fucks Ed Begley Jr. at one point.
Scariest thing I've ever seen!
I love having TFTC marathons with my girlfriend, and driving her nuts using bad Cryptkeeper like puns for the rest of the night.

I use to watch Tales from the Crypt way back in the day.
New spin off is coming out hosted by Flava Flav called "Nite Tales". Suppose to be like Tales from the Crypt, but with a bit of humor, and still freaky.
