The Expendables
I don't know about today but 20 years ago this cast would have been mind blowing. Sly had to have some major surgeries done after filming this one and now wants to make Rambo. I've got my eye on it.
Sylvester Stallone ... Barney 'The Schizo' Ross
Jason Statham ... Lee Christmas
Jet Li ... Yin Yang
Dolph Lundgren ... Gunnar Jensen
Eric Roberts ... Monroe
Randy Couture ... Toll Road
Steve Austin ... Dan Paine
David Zayas ... General Garza
Giselle Itié ... Sandra
Terry Crews ... Hale Caesar
Mickey Rourke ... Tool
other cast:
Bruce Willis ... Mr. Church
Arnold Schwarzenegger ... Trench
Brittany Murphy
Danny Trejo

Jason Statham is still in ass-kicking shape.
We saw the trailer in front of Kick-Ass and I can't wait to see it. I love Dolph Lundgren, Statham, Li, ...
Some of the cast is "iffy" to me, but most of it is great!
It's missing maybe a few more international guys... Like Tony Ja, Van Damme, Cyril Raffaelli, David Belle, Kaneshiro (he should just be in everything), Liam Neeson, ... And a few more ladies Wei Zhao, Shu Qi, Anne Parillaud...
I also have a few fav "bad guys" that could have been used like Tcheky Karyo, Jean Reno, ... |

I was thinking of some of those poeple as well. It would have been nice to see Van Damage in this one in particular and maybe a cameo by Steven Seagal breaking someone's arm. |

If you compare ANYTHING to Akira Kurosawa, you're gonna be disappointed. |

He's impossible to top, but there have been some excellent action films. "Hard Boiled," "The Killer," "Lethal Weapon," the "Zatoichi" movies, et al. _________________ ----------

Face/Off, Under Seige, Rambo, True Lies
Kurosawa movies are expensive as fuck. Right up there with Criterions. Probably because they usually are Criterions. |

I've owned several including Seven Samurai and Hidden Fortress but I never considered them as action movies. They're much more than that. |
