I remember the Fireball XL-5, but I think that was a separate series by the same producer as "Thunderbirds". I can't remember the actual names of the Thunderbird ships.
And here's something that may not qualify as a 'ship' per se, but I've always loved it...the Galaxy Express 999, from the 1980's anime film. If I ever get to go to an anime convention at my age, I'm dressing up as The Conductor. |

| Nothing has ever looked cooler than the TIE Interceptor, though the drop ship from Aliens comes close. |

Sorry, but the drop ships are WAY cooler than the TIE. The way their wings fold in on each other? I looked it up, and that is the very definition of awesome. There was even a picture. |

The Millennium Falcon. Such a battered old ship, it had so much character, like a much loved car that was always breaking down but its owner was too in love with it to let it go. Unsurprisingly, Star Wars is getting a lot of votes here.
The TIE Fighter always sounded so cool, though. It screaches from the front speakers and across the rear like some kind of banshee. |

The dropships are indeed cooler than the tie. The Millenium Falcon definitely has the best name of any Star Wars ship.
How about some Avatar love? I'd go with the AT-99 Scorpion Gunship. It has a 98.4% accuracy to eliminate any threat from the ground or sky. A VTOL ship packing some serious firepower. Reminds me of a futuristic Apache. |

I never went away from this film with any memory of the ships, strangely enough. I'll have to go and check out this dropship that you mention... |

| The Tie Interceptor is definitely way cooler than a standard Tie Fighter. |

You and the damn Avatar again.
Now that you mention it, the ships in Avatar look very similar to the drop ships, with propellers replacing the missile pods. That Cameron is a no talent hack, I tell you! |

Avatar has several cool ships and I waited a long time to bring it up.
Seriously though one of the greatest ship designs in film is Discovery from 2001 A Space Odyssey. So simple yet awesome. Also Alexei Leonov from 2010 is pretty badass. |

Na'vi women are hot. There's no shame in it. I'm not the only one who watched documentaries of African tribes to see tits as a kid. |
