I agree. Although after 20 years (Jesus 20 years!) it's easy to overlook the Simpsons and take them for granted I would still choose Futurama as my all time favorite animated show. Overall though I would still pick many many Looney Tunes shorts as the best things animation can possibly accomplish. (And yes as stupid as Family Guy is I've gotten some big laughs. Same with snarky old South Park)
The Futurama movies were 'off' but I think they felt that way because they took story and character over laughs. Futurama was always a show were, for the most part, I was more interested in where things went over comedy.
