LOST BOYS: The CW’s Female-Driven Series Isn’t Designed for Hardcore Fans?

Yesterday we passed along word that “Cry Little Sister” performer and co-writer G Tom Mac (aka Gerard McMahon) has been tapped to write and arrange songs for The CW’s upcoming adaptation of The Lost Boys.
And today he praised the show’s commitment to representation.
He tells SyFyWire: “Cast-wise, it’s more diversified in coordination with the times, as it should be. It’s a little bit more female-driven in its way.”
He adds: “I’m sure it’s gonna be torn down by the hardcore fans; there’s just no way that this show can win. But it wasn’t designed for the hardcore fans. It was basically trying to keep the essence of what the film projected … It’s a reimagining and it’s an adaptation of the film...”
Hurm… I guess we’ll just have to wait and see…
In the meantime, remember the series is set in modern-day, and follows two brothers who move to a seaside town in North Carolina with their single mother. Once there, they learn that it’s teeming with vampires.
Creator Rob Thomas (iZombie) rewrote the script with Heather Mitchell (Scandal). Marcos Siega (The Following) will direct the cast which (currently) includes Branden Cook, Lincoln Younes, and Ruby Cruz.
