Artist Jeremy Raymer Paints Killer Tom Savini Mural in Lawrenceville

Tom Savini is an icon of horror known worldwide, but the Godfather of Gore still lives in the Pittsburg-area home he grew up in. His professional headquarters are also in the area (He runs the Tom Savini Special Make-Up Effects Program at the Douglas Education Center in Monessen), making Savini a much-loved member of the community. Case in point: Local artist Jeremy Raymer has just painted a huge mural of the FX artists on a house in Lawrenceville.

Next Pittsburg reports:

The 2,500-square-foot masterpiece is his largest project to date. (Up for an adventure? You can take a stab at finding all of his work on this self-guided tour.)

Savini helmed special effects on Friday the 13th, Dawn of the Dead, Creepshow 2, and many others; he’s also an accomplished actor (From Dusk Till Dawn) and director (Night of the Living Dead 1990).
