THE HUNGER Remake In the Works with Jennifer Lawrence & Anya Taylor-Joy?

Well, it looks like there might be a remake of True Romance and Man on Fire director Tony Scott’s cult classic vampire flick The Hunger with David Bowie, Susan Sarandon, and Catherine Deneuve in the early stages of development.

According to We Got This Covered, Jennifer Lawrence and Anya Taylor-Joy are being eyed for the two female leads with David Bowie’s son and Moon director Duncan Jones is said to be on the shortlist to write and direct.

Here’s the original film’s trailer.

John (David Bowie) is the lover of the gorgeous immortal vampire Miriam (Catherine Deneuve), and he’s been led to believe that he’ll live forever, too. Unfortunately, he quickly deteriorates into a horrible living death, and Miriam seeks a new companion. She soon sets her sights on Sarah (Susan Sarandon), a lovely young scientist, who quickly falls under Miriam’s spell. However, Sarah doesn’t warm up to the concept of vampirism easily, leading to conflict with Miriam.

The film sports a 52% approval rating over on Rotten Tomatoes with a Critics Consensus that reads: Stylish yet hollow, The Hunger is a well-cast vampire thriller that mistakes erotic moments for a satisfying story.
