The Bloody Films of Gigi Saul Guerrero: Live Mexican Horror Movie Night This Thursday

Tune in this Thursday, May 21st at 7 PM (PST) for a horror movie night featuring the works of legendary genre filmmaker Gigi Saul Guerrero, HERE. Check out the short films that launched her career and discuss how a Mexican immigrant film student in Vancouver grew to become an international horror icon directing for Blumhouse & Warner Brothers.

This live event will be packed with short films and Q&As moderated by Joel Ashton McCarthy. Participants can submit questions live during the streaming event!

About Gigi:
Gigi Saul Guerrero is a Mexican director and actress living in Vancouver Canada; Variety identified her as part of the new wave of Latino talent. She has been praised as one of the top emerging directors in the horror genre by Empire, Dread Central, and Bloody Disgusting. Guerrero is known for her gritty “Tex-Mex” filmmaking style with a lot of grind-house influence and gore, as well as horrors based on Mexican legends, folk tales, modern urban legends, and culturally relevant topics. She was born and raised in Mexico City, Mexico. Gigi moved to Vancouver B.C., where she graduated with honors earning a B.A. in Motion Picture Production at Capilano University’s Bosa Centre for Film and Animation.

Guerrero completed her feature film debut Culture Shock for Blumhouse Production’s Into The Dark anthology series for Hulu. She is also a directing instructor at the prestigious Vancouver Film School. In her mid 20’s Guerrero became one of the co-founders of the award-winning production company Luchagore Production. Guerrero became an associate designer/writer for Capcom Game Studios in Vancouver. Guerrero’s most anticipated project, La Quinceañera, a thrilling 7-episode mini-series she directed and co-created, with Warner Brothers Tv and Stage13 Network, winning Audience choice award at Morbido Film Fest in Mexico City for her world premiere. Her recent successes include the short film Dia De Los Muertos, part of Mexico Barbaro horror anthology. She also directed M is for Matador, which is officially a part of The ABC’s of Death 2.5. Since film school, Gigi has Directed well over 18 shorts, and commercials, including the award-winning El Gigante, and viral sensations Evil Dead in 60 seconds, and A Luchagore Christmas.
