DeepFake Proves Willem Dafoe Would’ve Been A F*cking Killer Hannibal Lecter

We’ve all see some pretty good Deep Fakes by this point – such as Jim Carrey as Jack Nicholson’s Jack Torrance in Stephen King and Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining.

But today we have one that really feels meant to be in an alternate universe: Willem Dafoe (The Lighthouse, Wild at Heart) as Hannibal Lecter in Silence of the Lambs.

This new Deep Fake comes to us via Ctrl Shift Face on YouTube and also features Gillian Anderson (The X-Files, Hannibal) replacing Jodie Foster as Clarice Starling.

The original film starred Jodie Foster stars as Clarice Starling, a top student at the FBI’s training academy. Jack Crawford (Scott Glenn) wants Clarice to interview Dr. Hannibal Lecter (Anthony Hopkins), a brilliant psychiatrist who is also a violent psychopath, serving life behind bars for various acts of murder and cannibalism. Crawford believes that Lecter may have insight into a case and that Starling, as an attractive young woman, maybe just the bait to draw him out.

The film sports a 96% approval rating over on Rotten Tomatoes with a Critics Consensus that reads: Director Jonathan Demme’s smart, taut thriller teeters on the edge between psychological study and all-out horror, and benefits greatly from stellar performances by Anthony Hopkins and Jodie Foster.
