Most underrated rock band in music or do I have bad taste?

I wouldn't say underrated, I dunno. They're still around, a buddy say them back in November as part of a "rock cruise" where Tesla, Ratt and a few other bands hung around and played on a cruise ship.

As far as much goes, the only Tesla cd I've owned has been "Psychotic Supper'. Quite good.

That's a rhetorical question, right?

That cruise sounds great. I love Ratt too.

Tesla put out some excellent albums. Check out 5 Man Acoustical Jam for some great guitar.

What a great band. I always thought they were so much better than their peers, considering they were unfairly lumped in with the "hair metal" scene (which I dug a lot of, don't get me wrong) . . . they were just a good blue-collar rock n' roll band.

Those of you who are old-school Tesla fans oughta check out their latest, FOREVER MORE. Although there are probably a few too many jangly ballads -- something I found to be the case quite often with Tesla albums, as much as I love 'em -- it's still a very good disc. Recommended.

Heh, in a weird turn of events, one of my good friends ended up in them. He's the new kid they have on lead guitar. Funny, because he is really a throwback to the 70s/80s. Dave Rude. Man he can fucking killlllllllll.
He has an insane metal style too which hardly anyone gets to hear, that is right up there with Dimebag. This guy has tons and tons of soul.

Dave also has the Dave Rude Band (hey clever!) which can be found pretty easy. They have a myspace.

Yeah. TESLA were always cut from more classic cloth than the rest of the 80s hair bands.

With all of your contacts in the music business, Butcher, DC should be a heavy hitter when it comes to music. What gives?

I have avoided writing about music.

I left music in a professional sense because I hated the overall landscape. Self-important managers, schiester promoters, the list goes on. So even writing about it would still mean I was involved. I figured I'd "save it for the book" or whatever.

But ...now that you've brought it up, that's changing. Stay tuned.

Heh. Finally a video with the aforementioned Dave Rude shredding with his solo band.

Nice fat soloing at the end of the song.

This dude is fuckin' rad. TESLA is hopefully just the beginning for him.

The vocals kinda remind me of Danny Elfman, hehehe, like if he was a rock singer. Weird.

That stuff is pretty poor quality so it's hard to say but the new album is ok.

I hate standing by. Give me the inside scoop man. Laughing

It doesn't have to be 5.1 sound to tell what Dave is playing is bad ass. Smile

The inside scoop? I'll be submitting some music pieces soon.

Nope.

But as an industry? SHITTY.

I'll be doing some recording this year. Actually I was going to have the aforementioned Dave Rude do some lead work for me. Digital recording and .wav files have made so many things possible.
