Second Extinction Mixes Left 4 Dead With Dinosaurs
Okay, why the fuck isn’t everyone talking about Second Extinction? I know a lot of cool games were announced today. But this is Left 4 Dead with dinosaurs. That’s a strict upgrade. Zombies are way overplayed. Dinosaurs will never be overplayed. That means that Second Extinction has infinite gameplay. My logic is sound and I refuse to hear otherwise.
From developers Systemic Reaction (one of the studios that makes up Avalanche Studios Group), the trailer for Second Extinction is admittedly a bit repetitive. We don’t get to see a lot of environments, and we mostly just see some kind of raptor being on the receiving end of ludicrous gunfire. Luckily, Systemic Reactions provided more information in their Official Press Release:
Systemic Reaction, a creative division of Avalanche Studios Group based in Stockholm and Malmö, is excited to reveal Second Extinction: a 3-player, online co-op shooter in which players team up to reclaim Earth from mutated dinosaurs. Second Extinction offers non-stop action, forcing players to think fast and shoot faster in short but intense combat operations across a beautiful yet dangerous frozen world.
“I’m very proud of what our team has created,” said Tobias Andersson, Managing Director at Systemic Reaction. “As a live game, we plan to support Second Extinction long-term, as we do with all our titles. We can’t wait for players to team up, start playing, and become part of our community.”
Made by a small group of 35 talented developers from 15 different countries, Second Extinction is the first title developed by the division’s team in Malmö, Sweden. The game offers players fast and fluid combat as they fight side by side against a wide variety of beastly predators long thought extinct — now mutated and deadlier than ever!
“Second Extinction is a real passion project for our tight-knit team, and we’re just getting started. It’s incredible how far we’ve come in this short time and I’m super excited to reveal more details, including our live roadmap, in the coming months,” added Brynley Gibson, Lead Producer at Systemic Reaction.
