The Game - LAX, You Know What It Is series of mixtapes
Lil Wayne - Tha Carter 1, 2, & 3, Like Father Like Son (w Birdman), Blood Brothers mixtape (w The Game)
50 Cent - Get Rich or Die Tryin', The Massacre
T.I. - TI vs. TIP, Paper Trail
Snoop Dogg - Tha Reunion mixtape (w The Game)
Eminem - Relapse
Jay-Z - Reasonable Doubt, Vol. 2 Hard Knock Life, The Blueprint 1, 2, & 3
Damian Marley - Halfway Tree, Welcome to Jamrock

I have major issues with wayne because he freestyles every track. I admit the man is talented in frees, but he could be so much better with his talent and that is why I'm supremely dissapointed in him.

Is game really worth getting into? I'm asking in all serious, not as an insult.

As for 50, well after get rich or die tryin' he hasn't made something that I can listen to on a constant. I wish he started with some bad songs, rather then the album that he did, and moved up. Instead it just feels like he's starting to lack the hunger.

It's definitely not for everyone.

The only one I ever owned was Ice-T's "Original Gangsta".

Trust me Game is great when he doesn't name drop that much and on LAX, he didn't do much name dropping and he did some crazy rhymes on that one too. With 50, I like the Massacre too but after that he went downhill. Curtis blew and his new stuff sounds like shit. The thing about Lil Wayne is that on mixtapes, is where he really shines. It suits him much better than doing actual albums does cause he doesn't have to make a concept. But his stuff is also mostly for stoners.

I've listened to everything by lil wayne(up until last year, and I've looked). I tried to like the guy, but there's really no substance.

As for 50, the war angel mixtape was closer to get rich and massacre then it was to curtis. I think he's getting back.

Permafrost, I was listening to that earlier today, classic.

I'll have to give the game a try, what should I start with?

That Forever King mixtape 50 put out a few weeks after War Angel sucked. But I'll admit, War Angel was pretty good. Though I'm still wary on Before I Self Destruct.

Before I self destruct sounds like something Em' should be doing. Haven't heard the forever king, I'm guessing I should avoid it.

Forever King is pretty much Fiddy rapping over 90s R&B beats and occasionally freestyling. And I have heard Before I Self Destruct and it's surprisingly good. I haven't heard Fiddy this vicious since Get Rich or Die Tryin'. Not even on the Massacre was he this vicious. It kinda reminds me of the Power of the Dollar and Guess Who's Back? days Fiddy more than anything. Psycho with Em is a fucked up song. Fiddy really impressed me with BISD. I only hate 4 tracks out of 16. Much more than I can say about that shitty ass Curtis album which I can barely listen to at all. Though the problem with Curtis, I think, is that it felt very rushed and you can almost tell that it was cause Fiddy's flow goes off track occasionally on half the songs and plus the rhymes were too simplified and I know Fiddy could rhyme much better than he did on that one.

Oh shits! I have yet another one to include to my list apparently.

Lil Wayne - Rebirth (Yeah, I know it's his rock album but it's kinda impressive)

The reason why I put that one up there is not only Wayne is rapping on it, but he actually sings and plays guitar and bass on it. You get a mixture of hard rock, punk, rap, and even 80s sounding new wave.

I'll give it a try, but nine times out of ten, I hate the guy with a passion.

I use to hate Lil Wayne myself and then I heard stuff like Georgia... Bush and Tie My Hands and I found the substance that he hides. Also try Shoot Me Down and Playing With Fire from Carter 3. He's really not as bad as everyone makes me out to be. Granted I do hate the majority of pop tracks he does with other people but when it comes to his own stuff, he's actually good.
