What is up with Trent Reznor? I saw NIN on the Pretty Hate Machine and Downward Spiral tours and they were both about as amazing as a concert can get post-Pink Floyd. Why does he not only shit on fans by taking half a decade to release an album but retire from touring. Well at least I got to see them when I had the chance. The DVD is sweet too.

Do you know why? I know he's a pretty reclusive guy.

This is the only band I've ever won tickets to see. Won 'em on 06/06/06, to boot. (Lucky numbers)

Pretty good show. But, I was just never a really huge fan. I don't even own a single one of the albums. So, the news I'll never get to see 'em again doesn't really bug me too much.

You should at least own Pretty Hate Machine. Any self respecting music lover owns at least one NIN album.

I was pretty fucked up but when I saw them on The Downward Spiral tour they had a multi-level stage setup and I remember lots of blue.

Only marginally on-topic, but I have no idea where else to post this nugget of wisdom that came to me while I was drinking and watching videos..."The Perfect Drug" is the best example of a music video's images matching the sounds of the song. The video looks the way the song sounds, like no other video. Completely unrelated, but A-Ha's "Take On Me" video is the most creative music video ever made. It was something that had never been seen before (except for the last few "Altered States" seconds).

This is a little late, but why not? During the Wave Goodbye tour NIN performed The Downward Spiral in it's entirety. Unfortunately Reznor did not have the show professionally recorded. He did have a relaxed camera policy for the tour, so a lot of people did film it. Some of those fans got together and created a DVD of the event. Their efforts can be downloaded at the following URL:

They can also be viewed via YouTube at the following playlist:

It's definitely something worth checking out.
