Petty’s Going Goth

Well, good to see Fox Atomic is getting back into horror. Sorta.
Daily Variety got the news this morning that Mimic: Sentinel and The Burrowers helmer JT Petty has been approached by the studio to direct Goth, based on a best-selling Japanese novel.
The story of Goth thankfully has nothing to do with depressed kids whining about their dark, empty souls and writing poetry. Instead it deals with a pair of high school kids from opposite sides of the track who are forced to come together to take down a serial killer in their hometown, yet again proving the inefficiency of the police.
Petty is finishing up work on Burrowers as we speak so there’s a good chance this might be his next project, unless things start moving on the Faces of Death remake he’s attached to as well. We’ll let you know more when we do!
