I want to see it this weekend too. I'm a firm believer in the existance of UFO's but I'm not quite sold on abduction although I don't discount it offhand either.
What I wonder about most is where are they coming from? Could an alien civilization that has harnessed nuclear power and all of its capabilities without destroying themselves be able to use to travel faster than light? I'm not sure if it would even be possible then. What I think is a more plausible explanation is that they have learned to travel dimensionally and that they actually exist in the same space we do. Or could they be closer to us than we even think? There's plenty of scientists who believe Jupiter's moons are in fact constructs of a race trying to escape a dying planet because of their orbits and the fact that they are deteriorating.
Has time travel been completely ruled out?
As interesting as it all is I've never really done any reading into it. |

| She seems to be trying very hard to not come off as a UFO nutjob. It is good to read a positive review of this movie since the trailer does nothing to make me want to see it. I'm just way more interested in the subject matter than I am about ghosts, demons and possession. |

I didn't see this thread before I started my own in the 'shiver shack'.

The film is AWESOME. I love the subject mater, so there is a bit of a bias....but they do an awesome job on the reinactments and the film maker does a great job of presenting the material as it is (factually) without his own biases coming into play (I am not saying this film is without opinion, there is LOTS of opinion...but there are also lots of facts).
I do understand that the actual archived footage used in the film COULD be a hoax....but I don't think it is. It could also be explained in ways other than alien abduction/contact....but everyone can decide that for themselves...and regardless what you decide, the film was still extremely well done.
I found some of the footage very frightening/disturbing/shocking...and I am actually a bit surprised it only got a PG13 rating.

ya, that was crazy...which is why I want to know about the validity of the footage.
...I was also very disturbed by how dr.tyler's face looks in the last video where she is being hypnotized.

The Fourth Kind = Mothman Prophecies , w/ the filmmakers "pissing on your leg & telling you its raining". Anyone that even entertains the notion that the "actual" footage is legit , just wait a few months......
