This Halloween we will be hit with Chris Rock’s reboot of James Wan and Leigh Whannell’s horror series Saw co-starring Samul L. Jackson and directed by Darren Lynn Bousman. And today we hear via Mongrel Media that the title may be Spiral: From the Book of Saw. I dig it.

Lionsgate Motion Picture Group’s chairman Joe Drake stated “We think Samuel L. Jackson and Chris Rock along with Max Minghella and Marisol Nichols make this film completely special in the Saw canon and we can’t wait to unleash this unexpected and sinister new story on fans of this franchise. This is next level of Saw on full tilt.”

Saw rebooted is directed by Darren Lynn Bousman and produced by Oren Koules and Mark Burg from a screenplay written by Josh Stolberg and Peter Goldfinger from a story by Chris Rock based on the original film written by James Wan and Leigh Whannell. It stars Chris Rock as Zeke with Samuel L. Jackson as Marcus, Max Minghella as William Schenk, and Marisol Nichols as Capt. Angie Garza. Lionsgate Films will unleash the funny new Saw movie on May 15, 2020.
It was originally set to be released on October 23, 2020, but got moved up to avoid competition with Blumhouse and director David Gordon Green’s Halloween Kills.
