I fucking hate MP3's. Now if a person has a truly cutting edge system they might be able to sound ok but I think generally speaking people really took two 2 giant steps back from SACD and DVD-Audio to settle for MP3's. I even prefer vinyl.
Really though I think the MP3 has changed the way people listen to music. I've never been one to listen to a single before I listened to the album it comes from. I don't think of music in terms of individual songs but rather albums. When I wake up in the morning I get a particular album in my head and have to listen to it like Animals or Rumours or whatever.
Is it albums or MP3's? |

both.
I own just about 3000 cds and all of them (except the latest purchases) are ripped to Mp3 @ 192kbps. (just over 160gbs worth)
I love iPods because I hate having to carry around a discman and a bunch of discs in a cd wallet (that was soooooo high school lol)...I also have an ipod in my car because I don't like leaving my discs in my car and the ipod is semi-permanently installed in my dash. _________________ ? |

I prefer a discman and with my listening habits I'll stick to a single album for a week or two. I bought an ipod and used it for a few days but I don't even know where it is anymore. I had it hooked up to my car too but always listened to CD's anyway.
I have a pretty substantial vinyl collection still. New vinyl sounds fucking amazing. I get a kick out of listening to my older LP's with scratches and imperfections. They become part of the song to me amd I know exactely when every skip is going to happen. It's much like listening to Benny and the Jets and hearing that long whistle. It is part of the song to me.
Yes albums had the best covers. |

Vintage, very nice. I've got an unremarkable new one. |

I'm against all things digital. I fear change. |

| Actually, having a sick sound system makes MP3s sound WORSE. |
