Anybody else playing this?

I'm pretty happy with it so far. The graphics are very good for the Wii, and they kept all of the settings, items, and weapons from the first one so it's a fun bit of nostalgia. I liked the nod to the first one that they have in the opening moments of the game.

My only complaint so far is that it doesn't seem to have a whole lot in the way of variety as far as enemies go, and enemies are few and far between. Then again I'm playing it on "normal" mode, and its definitely WAY too easy - even my wife, who never plays games, was blasting through it with no problems.

Anyway, if you liked the first one I'd highly recommend this one. If you own a Wii and are looking for a violent game this should keep you happy as well.

I know this is good. I need to get this for my sons who have a Wii at home. They watched me play through the original but thought it was too scary for them. Dead Space ousted System Shock 2 as my favorite game of all time. If there's one thing I know it's games. I was playing text adventures before my Dad brought home Pong. Anyway keep coming with the impressions. I'll never play it but I'd definitely like to hear about it.

My wife keeps saying that it's scary but I don't think so.

It's a very immersive game - even though it's a rail shooter your character is in constant interraction with other characters. The camera does move around quite a bit as your character is constantly looking around or having to turn directions suddenly so whether or not you're a fan of this style will go a long way in determining whether or not this game is for you.

Also, the game starts off heavy on animated, non-playable sequences and light on action but I'm about five levels in and the action is picking up.

How's the story? To me that's what this game was supposed to be all about. Did you watch the webisodes and Downfall?

I watched the animated comics on the PS network but I never saw Downfall (on my Netflix queue).

I'm a fan of the story so far - it sets up the first videogame very well and so far it's tied in with the animated comics very well, too.

Regarding the heavy emphasis on story, I just saw an interview w/ EA games where they called this a "guided story" instead of a traditional "rail shooter" so it makes more sense now.

Come to think of it Downfall is the best video game adaptation I've ever seen but I guess I don't give it all the credit it deserves because it's animated.

Well my wife finally bought a Wii, and the first games we rent is Boom Blox and this. Wow. I was not expecting this type of game on the Wii. When I say "this type of game", I mean a good one. It has some flaws that are inherent to any Wii game (wonky controls, bland graphics) but I gotta say I liked this one just as much as it's big brother.

It's not a game with replayability, though. Interactive movie is what it's been coined and I wholeheartedly concur. Much more story and drama than the first, with a couple of surprises that made even me say "whoa". You are always in a group with a couple of solo bits thrown in and the group setting is where the story unfolds, as you walk down dark corridors talking to each other.

The gameplay itself is standard on rails fare with some cool little gimmicks. You have four weapons that you can switch between at any time with the nunchuck, stasis and telekinesis. Stasis recharges fairly quickly, so slowing down the bad guys is rarely a problem. The telekinesis is used for picking up items and simple puzzles. The difficulty is like it's big brother, that is to say pretty easy on default settings.

Great rental, and maybe a purchase for $20 or less. If the Wii had more games like this I wouldn't be so embarrassed to own one. Now I got to go play Boom blox with the wife. quality time, ya know?

I'm playing through this right now, and enjoying myself.
