Anyhow, Deadline reports a reboot of The Fugitive is in the works from From Hell director Albert Hughes. Brian Tucker (Broken City) will write the script, and Erik Feig will produce.
The 1993 action classic was based on the 1963 TV series that starred David Janssen and Barry Morse. The film snagged seven Oscar nominations including Best Picture, and good old Tommy Lee Jones won Best Supporting Actor for his role as U.S. Marshal Samuel Gerard.
The Fugitive (1993) centered on Harrison Ford’s Dr. Richard Kimble who is wrongfully accused of murdering his wife and escapes from the law in an attempt to find her killer and clear his name.
Tommy Lee Jones’ U.S. marshal Samuel Gerard pursues him with his team and will not rest until Ford is captured. As Ford leads the team through a series of intricate chases, he discovers the secrets behind his wife’s death and struggles to expose the killer before it is too late.
Andrew Davis directed The Fugitive (1993) from a screenplay written by David Twohy and Jeb Stuart based on the series created by Roy Huggins. Anne and Arnold Kopelson produced along with Keith Barish. It starred Harrison Ford, Tommy Lee Jones, Sela Ward, Joe Pantoliano, Andreas Katsulas, and Jeroen Krabbe. Warner Bros. released it back on August 6, 1993.
