Anthrax is NOT brutal in the least. If anything it's dance oriented make-your-body-move stuff with slight goofy-fun undertones in the riffage. And Slayer is just fucking B-O-R-I-N-G. Though Reign In Blood is indeed brutal as fuck. But that was the last thing they did worth spending time on.

And while I loooooove UFO and vintage Michael Schenker, Mustaine's playing (and the other dude, whatever his name is) aren't like SChenker in the least. BUT...know what DOES really remind me of M. Schenker? The lead work on RIDE THE LIGHTENING. Listen to the solo in the "SOmeone help meeeee...please god help meeee..." section of the title song. Soooooo fucking M. Schenker it's unreal.

if anything, Mustaine (like Friedman) wants to be the OTHER German master, Uli Roth.

We covered the fact that Anthrax and Slayer aren't brutal but that's as far as I go anyway.

Listen to this album though man and tell me you don't hear Schenker. It may just be the slightest suggestion but it's there. I've seen Schenker in concert a dozen times. He's a brilliant guitarist, too bad he can't stop himself from flipping out all the time.

Isn't Slayer coming out with a new album soon?

OK I'm going to listen to Endgame and think "Schenker". And yeah man, he's always cancelling shows. He's a crazy drunk, emphasis on razy. He drinks so much it's almost killed him, and caused some personality disorders.

But damn his work with UFO is stellar. BTW, UFO with Vinnie Moore does NOT suck, and when I saw the band with Jason Bonham on drums, they were awesome. And I HATE reunions for the most part. But this was 100 per cent bad assery. And I know they're touring again, so you should check it out Floyd.

I've heard Vinnie Moore UFO and it's not bad but THEY NEED KEYBOARDS!!!!

I saw Vinnie Moore live too and the next day picked up his CD. He truly kicks ass on guitar.

The rhythm guitarist (Andy Parker I think?) plays the keys just like in the old days. He wasn't when you saw them?

Vinnie Moore is of course very very good, but I'm not into the shredders. I like a good solid musical passage then DONE as far as a solo for the most part. Instrumental shred is just too much for me. Smile

You should listen to Uli Roth's ELECTRIC SUN though. Have you heard that stuff Flyd? I'll get some to you if not.

No, haven't heard of him before.

I didn't notice much in the way of keyboards with the new UFO I'll have to listen some more.

I love me some classic UFO though that's some great shit and very influential to alot of musicians today.

I should throw Strangers in the Night in.

Broken is alot heavier that Downward Spiral but I think Downward Spiral is Trent's most introspective work and is darker than any other album.

This could be something as simple as me hearing the distinctive sound of a Flying V.

I'll check this out at some point, but I didn't like their last cd too much, and I heard this one wasn't that great either.

Dave's V and Schenker's V are nothing alike and you would not hear a similar tone.

I'm not bagging on you for not knowing, just sayin...

Not too mention their amp rigs couldn't be more different.

I'm waiting for you to listen to it still. Laughing

Megadeth has some great albums and this isn't one of them but it's good. Good enough for me anyway. I love metal but like so few bands. Albums I can listen to are few and far between.

Why are you doing this to me?
Am I not living up to what I'm supposed to be?
Why am I seething with this animosity?
I think you owe me a great big apology
Terrible Lie!
