Anybody else excited for this game? I was until I heard that a lot of the combat was X,X,X,X,X,Y-styled.

Anyway, the demo drops this Friday (August 7th).

Of course I'm excited. It's not only a Batman/Joker story, it's clearly deep in the heart of the more horror-faceted Batman tales. I don't give a crap what format the combat takes, the concept of prowling around Arkham with people like Zsasz and Joker running loose, using fear to eliminate foes...man, I am IN.

Ok, that demo was one of the funnest things I've played in a long damn time. Batarangs to enemies, crawling in airducts like Solid Snake, hiding up in the shadows only to drop down and ktfo people. Awesome.

Zsasz is in the demo, albeit shortly - I hope that isn't the only time we see him.

I'll rent it but I don't expect it to be any better than any other superhero game and I think they all pretty much suck.

No, I should download it. I saw the TV spot for it and it really didn't do a whole lot for me. What I need is another Dead Space for an adrenaline shot straight to the heart. My gaming is on life support right now and failing fast. I go through this every now and then.

It's no Dead Space, but if you like Batman, this is Batman. (The Batman from the comics, not the Batman from the movies.) People die here, en masse. Joker is a mass murderer, not a clever thief or agent of chaos. Batman sticks to the shadows and brings lots of pain silently, without being detected.

The more you're into the comic Batman, the more you'll enjoy the game, it's a directly 1-to-1 ratio.

I played this demo 6 time tonight. I found all the riddler stuff(2), and a few other neat things. The gargoyles bugged me though. I can't wait until I get this game. I was so happy to find out Batmant could run in this. That's so awesome that he grapples, and the combat system is amazing. I found that with different timing, different aiming/angling you can pull off different things. Also, the grabbing an enemy from up top of a gargoyle is so satisfying, it's even moreso when you use a batarang to cut the rope he's hanging from. I officialy love the game!

What about them bugged you? I didn't like that they glowed neon orange when you are in Detective Mode. I kind of hope you can turn that off and just figure it all out on your own.

Speaking of Detective Mode - I hope there's a reason why you shouldn't have it on all the time. I mean, seeing through walls is really important to plan your next move but there seems to no reason to turn it off at all.

I'm digging the hell out of Arkham Asylum. There's nothing more satisfying than combating 10 thugs at once and fracturing their limbs with a nice crack. It's a must buy!

I'm enjoying this... about a quarter of the way through... needs more scarecrow, but I am digging the Riddler's little servy comments throughout.

I've got two more combat stages to go and then I'll have the Freeflow Gold achievement. Unfortunately, one of the two stages is a real bitch. It's called Shock and Awe. In it, you have to combat regular goons as well as ones with knives, stun rods, and guns. There's also a time limit.

For those who have not yet purchased Batman: AA, what are you waiting for?!

I'm waiting for a job, and money. I need this game so bad.

Wrung every ounce of joy out of this one, and man is there ever a lot of joy in there. So, so amazing.
