I don't know if anyone knows about this but on youtube you can hear the album with the bass actually included in the tracks which was horribly missing from the proper release. It's great stuff because it makes this masterpiece sound even better...

And if anyone has mp3s of this I would love to get my hands on them.

I've heard samples of some bozo adding his own bass track to it. But I'd be much more interested in a complete re-master.

It's an amazing album that sounds like shit. Although who could have predicted that in 2008 they'd make an album that sounded even worse?

I doubt they will ever remix this to correct the injustice to Jason.

...lol, Lars thinks it sounds fine still.

Ha! Lars, the guy who thought it was Ok to use a fucking sink on St. Anger instead of a decent snare. I hate that man. Fuckin' ego-maniac.

But anyway back to the topic. If I can find anything I'll let you know.

I dont really doubt it. It's just everytime he hit it, it reminded me of hitting a sick. That is my major complaint with the album... besides others.

I dunno, as a fan of prog rock (the real shit like THE LAMB LIES DOWN ON BROADWAY by Genesis) and the true math/jazz punk stuff (like NO MEANS NO and VICTIMS FAMILY) the attempt made by METALLICA at doing "complicated music" is kind of a laugh. Especially with such an incompetant drummer like Lars.

And trust me, being from the original Bay Area thrash scene before the "M" even moved to El Cerrito, I know firsthand the dude has always been a bit of a laughing stock among his peers. He's pretty much the worst drummer in all of metal.

Tom Hunting from EXODUS on the other hand...
AND JUSTICE could have really been something had Cliff not gone out the bus window, but a small Danish man instead.

DSIC - I have those mp3s around somewhere. If I can find them I'll get them to you. I also have the demos for RIDE THE LIGHTENING when "Call Of Ktulu" was still titled "When The Hills Run Red" and you can actually hear Cliff going insane on lead bass. It's quite amazing.

Me too, but Cliff got it from the way it was spelled in an issue of Heavy Metal.
I totally drilled him about having read HPL too, and it was on the lite side. A couple of anth's but not even close to the majority of HPL's work.

That disappointed the shit out of me.
