I'm happy to have stumbled on this board.
My name is Rhonda Underwood, and I'm a mask collector and lover of horror. I spent last weekend at Monsterpalooza and am still ridin' high!

I look forward to taking some time to catch up on the great reading around here.

It's a great place to be. I'd love to collect masks, any chance for a pic of your collection?

Sure is!

Actually I have some of my photos on the website www.thehma.net, and also have a link to an edited (my parts only) dvd from a show I did a couple years ago called "Secret Lives of Women" on the WE channel. Here's the link if you'd like to check it out: http://www.kaijuland.com/kaijuland/rhonda.html

I prefer to collect female masks/busts/sculptures, and brought 30 of those to Monsterpalooza to display.

I must warn you about collecting masks, though. It's addicting, and very hard on the bank account. Wink

Were I to collect, I'd learn how to make as well.

Thanks for the links, some pretty cool stuff.

Any particular reason you prefer to collect female?

Thanks for checking and enjoying the links!

Sculpting and painting seems to be a natural progression for collectors. I've sculpted one head (with so-so results) but never molded it because I wasn't happy enough with it. I want to try my hand again once I get a better area set up that's dedicated to artwork.

For some reason I'm more drawn to the female monsters. Some of the best monsters/characters out there are females. I encourage artists to add female sculptures to their portfolio - so far so good. Wink

Best,

Rhonda
