| I was discussing these books in a thread and got the urge to read them again. Yesterday I went to the bookstore and picked them up. If there's any horror fans out there who haven't read them you really should do so as they are both phenominal reads and the movie Relic is really unlike the book in many ways and is just a fraction of the story. I still liked it though. |

RELIC is to ALIEN what RELIQUARY is to ALIENS. Cannot say enough good things about these books. Too bad the movie version cut out all the great stuff in the book.  |

Good analogy there. I agree about the movie but I still enjoyed the hell out of it because I never imagined they would turn it into a movie. They can still make Reliquary and redeem themselves. I'd much rather watch that than The Children of the Corn remake. UGHH! |

Man, if I can find my copies, I am all for that.
I know where relic is, what time are you free. Maybe have a group reading, a chapter every couple days, talking while reading, like the dread central cinema.

That's what I was kind of thinking just a takeoff of what they do with movies here. I have never participated in that because I dumped most of my DVD collection and they haven't released a whole lot of horror films on Blu-Ray yet.
If we can get a couple more people interested in it I think it could be pretty cool. |

| I have relic, but not the other one. Keep meaning to get it at some point. Hopefully this new buy/sell/trade bookstore near me will get a copy. Right now I'm reading Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. |

| There is about 10 copies of each at the bookstore right now. Shouldn't be hard to get. They must still be pretty popular. |
