Happy 4th of July! Dread Central Celebrates 13 Years of Horror

While you’re out enjoying the 4th of July with friends and family we wanted to take a moment and say thank you to all the fans of our site, all the contributors both past and present, and to all members of our horror family where ever you are. If you love horror movies chances are we love you too.
Dread Central is now officially a teenager! If this website was a living person it would be celebrating its last summer before High School. A place where many of us felt like outcasts or struggled to find acceptance as nerds, or were looked down on because we liked weird shit.
Trust us it gets better.
We’ve always called Dread Central “The Island of Misfit Toys,” something Uncle Creepy came up with as a nod to the old Bankin and Rass film Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. If you’re not familiar with the story Rudolph leaves the north pole because of bullying and finds an island full of unwanted toys who are ruled by King Moonracer. As King of the toys, it becomes his job to find them new homes where they will be loved and accepted. It’s the idea that you have a home here no matter what.
We know its hard to be the weird kid but you can always sit with us.
